If you are looking for a work out with a difference…

You just found it.

New-triton

At DA’s we know the body needs to be fed the correct nutrients to allow your muscles to repair and grow. Having the right supplements will help you to see results quicker.

Here’s some information to help you know what you need to support your training:

Protein

This is the building block of all life and is essential to muscle repair and tissue growth, if you want your muscles to get stronger you will need plenty of it.
See our full range of protein powders here.

Carbohydrates

Carb’s get a lot of airtime in the press and have received a bit of a reputation as the devil incarnate. This is not true; carbohydrates are an energy source and we all need energy. There are two kinds of carb, simple carb’s such as sugar; white bread and chocolate can be eaten in moderation but need to be limited (we didn’t say it was all good news). Simple carb’s give you a quick hit of energy which if you don’t use immediately tends to be stored as fat. The kind of carb’s you want are complex, they release energy slowly and are less likely to give you a spare tyre. Look for wholemeal bread, rice and whole-wheat pasta.

Imagine you're driving a car in the red, you’ll only get so far before you grind to a halt – carbohydrates are your body’s fuel.

Fats

Even uttering the words makes turtles retreat in their shell.

Fat plays a vital part in weight loss, much like carb’s it is what kind of 'bad' you are consuming that makes the difference between lean and loaf.
Saturated fats, which are closely linked with hydrogenated and trans fats, need to be kept to minimum. Meat and diary both contain saturated fat therefore including these in your diet will provide you with all you need. Avoid trans fats, these are the worst kind and tend to live in your local fast food eatery. Included in this category is the Colenel who make our Friday night kebab…

On the topic of tasty things we move onto Unsaturated fat, known more commonly as good fat. These fats are vital to life and promote healthy skin, hair and can lower cholesterol levels. Here’s a few examples of what to look out for: avacado, fish, olive oil and nuts.
